ELITE POLAR PORK FARMS LTD. is in need of Pork Production Technician
NOC Code:   84120
  
Employment Terms:  Permanent - Full Time  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Carry out feeding routine for swine and perform routine service on feed equipment
2. Provide water for animals and perform routine maintenance on water drinkers
3. Handle and administer medications and vaccines as directed
4. Monitor pig health, notice signs of disorder and report concerns to supervisor
5. Follow safe manure management pit pulling procedure when cleaning out manure pits
6. Monitor and maintain proper ventilation and temperatures using automated control system
7. Prepare and maintain livestock records
8. Maintain inventory and inform supervisor if supplies are needed
9. Responsible to act safely in performing duties at all times
10. Perform other farm related duties as requested

WORKING HOURS:  7:00am to 3:30pm, 40 hours per week, with two varied days off per week
WAGE/BENEFITS: $18.50/hour. Bonus Program, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Health and Dental Insurance Program (80% paid by the insurance company)

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
1. Education: Completion of secondary school is required; College certificate or other specialized training in agriculture or livestock will be an asset
2. Work Experience: At least one-year related work experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of swine operations and farming practices
2. Patience and empathy to work with animals
3. Analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Decision making skills
5. Good written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to work individually or as part of a group
