SLGA is seeking an experienced, innovative, and self-motivated leader to join its Information Technology Branch as a permanent full-time Technical Manager.
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology Branch, the Technical Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the technical teams that support the SLGA infrastructure. The technical infrastructure includes servers, networks, databases, client machines, service desk, and IT Asset. This position is responsible for all computer hardware (approximately 250 laptops, 350 employee users), technical disaster recovery, technical infrastructure, technical support, and technical architecture. Supported areas include in house data center and colocation at SaskTel, Regina, and Saskatoon offices; Regina liquor distribution warehouse location; and a Regina project office.
The Technical Manager implements and influences changes within their own technical and service desk team, ITB, and the business; provides leadership to resources within their area as well as application teams, as required; and is a key member of the enterprise architecture team and provides contributions to aid development of architectural standards and support. The Technical Manager has a collaborative relationship with the Managers of IT Application and IT Architecture to ensure that the impact on security, vulnerability remediations, and the domain architectures including technical, application, business, and information, are positive. This position plays a key role in the development and implementation of the ITB Strategic Plan, and assists with the alignment of SLGA business areas and IT.
