Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planning and design of various beautification areas (flower beds) throughout the City
- Lead and participate in the Citys beautification program including:
- Flower planting, weeding, watering, general maintenance, and year end removal
- Shrub and mulch bed maintenance and plant care
- Low level tree pruning
- Assist with other Parks division initiatives including
- Maintenance of equipment
- Maintenance of outdoor spaces including parks, playgrounds, and sport fields
- Garbage pickup and collection
Other responsibilities include assisting in the other various streams in the Parks Division with duties such as:
- Snow removal
- Outdoor Rink Maintenance
- Maintenance of urban forest
- Cemetery Operations
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and operation
- Experience handling customer queries and concerns
- Effective problem solving and communication skills
- Certification or experience with pesticide application and/or landscaping
- Related parks and/or horticulture field experience is an asset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Possess and maintain a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers license
- Possess and maintain RCMP security clearance
Salary: Will be paid in accordance with CUPE Local #342 collective agreement.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:00 am 3:30 pm
Seasonal time frame: This seasonal position will run from April 2024 until December 2024 (estimate).
