Description

EXPERIENCE:
    Completion of a recognized legal assistant program is preferred
    Minimum 2 years of legal assistant experience is preferred
    Proficient knowledge working with computers including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) as well as operating a telephone phone system, photocopier, fax machine and scanner
    Strong knowledge of PCLAW accounting software including payroll and bank reconciliations is preferred
    Ability to produce accurate documents and excellent proofreading skills (ability to check typed material for grammatical, typographical, spelling, word usage and format errors)
    Fast, accurate keyboarding skills; minimum 40 wpm
    Detail orientated and able to handle multiple tasks
    Strong organizational skills
    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work under pressure with tight deadlines with accuracy

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Type correspondence and legal documents from handwritten notes and/or dictation
    Prioritize workflow to ensure completion of accurate work within established time frames
    Maintain files; including daily, file organization, opening files, closing files, etc.
    Time entry and preparation of client invoices
    Handle telephone calls and schedule appointments; process mail correspondence, both incoming and outgoing
    Process client identification in accordance with Law Society requirements
    Real Estate duties including managing assigned files, preparation of transfer/mortgage documents, communication with clients, realtors, law firms, and other service providers, and coordination of transaction closings

A valid Driver's License is required as well as your own vehicle.
