General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will assist in the planning, coordinating, and directing of day-to-day production operations, including manufacturing, raw material receiving, and product loading. This position will support the Plant Manager in achieving the sites safety, quality, and production goals.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

High School Diploma required, post-secondary education in a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of front-line supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with chemical manufacturing preferred.
Ability to operate heavy machinery (forklift, JCB, etc.)

Key Personal Attributes Include:

Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to maintain flexibility and to change direction as necessary.
Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment
Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

Daily supervision of all facility operations personnel, including planning and scheduling of work for all operators, assigning work tasks, and managing employee's vacation and overtime
Providing daily leadership through example, focusing on timely communication, objective feedback, clear work instructions, and coaching for continuous improvement
Coordinating manpower with the production schedule to ensure that training goals, including safety training and manufacturing cross-train.
