The Manager, Counselling Services is accountable to the Director, Counselling, Health and Accessibility services for the leadership, planning, development, implementation, evaluation and management of a comprehensive system of counselling services for students with a focus on wellness and mental health. By means of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with Deans, Associate Deans, Directors, Academic Chairs, Program Heads, Faculty and other stakeholders, the Manager, Counselling Services is accountable for the planning, development and implementation of new, innovative services in response to student, campus, community, and provincial needs.
In addition to the daily financial management and allocation of operational resources, the Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation control of departmental operational and capital plans and budgets.
This position will act as an institutional expert/leader in the provision of student wellbeing with a focus on mental health. Working collaboratively across the polytechnic, the manager, Counselling Services will deliver high quality services and effective supports while also playing a key role in advancing the polytechnic-wide growth of a healthy campus community where all students have the opportunity and support to thrive.
The Manager will be accountable and have independent authority for the direction, recruitment, retention, performance management and training of multiple staff to ensure that Saskatchewan Polytechnic is equipped to deliver the best educational experience possible for its students. Staff reporting to the Manager will be located at all four of Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus locations, in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Regina. Travel is required in this position.
