Description

W.F. Botkin is currently seeking a Seasonal  Full time Heavy Equipment Operator for our upcoming 2024 season. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment such as, but not limited to, loaders, dozers, graders, compacters, water trucks, oil trucks, and skid steers. Operators maintain their equipment to ensure health and safety of themselves and others. W.F. Botkin will provide PME training and certification for candidates whom may require it.

Job Duties:
    Operate gasoline and diesel powered units
    Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
    Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
    Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
    Diagnose / identify defects in heavy duty equipment and report back to supervisor
    Perform minor maintenance work to ensure full working condition of equipment
    Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation
    Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation and occupational health and safety
    Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
    Assist in loading and unloading of trucks
    Perform daily inspections
    Other duties as required

Required Experience:
    Minimum 2-3 years experience on a construction site operating heavy equipment;
    Valid drivers license with the ability to get to and from site;
    High attention to detail with strong values rooted in health and safety
    Ability to work in a high paced environment with high physical demand
    Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
    Scheduling flexibility as overtime may be required
    Steel-toe safety boots are required
