Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
-Leads the development, implementation & execution of the divisions HR Strategic Plan
-Provides staff support to the Director of Education including leading & participating in employee performance management/disciplinary actions
-Manages & supports school division staffing processes
-Manages the Human Resources departmental budget
-Plans, directs, coordinates & reviews the work plan for assigned Human Resource staff
-Monitors school division programs in the areas of occupational health & safety and workers compensation
-Performs other tasks and responsibilities that may be required to achieve organizational mission
The ideal candidate will have:
-Demonstrated proficiency working in a computerized environment
-Valid drivers license and/or means & ability to travel throughout Saskatchewan
-Knowledge of human resource management principles and practices
-Knowledge of the issues and challenges facing northern people and communities
-Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to effectively identify problems and issues
-Supervisory experience, general knowledge of organizational budgeting processes & basic accounting principles
-Demonstrated facilitation, conflict resolution & negotiating skills
-Ability to work independently, manage multiple/competing priorities & effectively support leadership teams
-Excellent communication skills
-Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related degree
Certification and/or membership in a human resource professional association and related experience would be considered an asset. An attractive salary and benefits package is offered.
