The RM of Cymri No. 36 is seeking applications for an experienced and qualified individual for the Superintendent of Public Works position. The role includes managing, training and working with all public works staff. As a member of Senior Management, the Superintendent of Public Works will work closely with the Administrator to ensure the municipality's needs are being met in accordance with legislation and municipal policies.
Requirements:
-Provide leadership and manage the Public Works departments day-to-day operations by coordinating, supervising and delegating appropriately.
-Manage, direct and supervise the delivery of various operational services that align with the RMs policies and procedures and meet the community's needs, including road maintenance, construction, snow removal operations, and managing the gravel program (including gravel stockpiles).
-Promote workplace safety and monitor and ensure the safe use of all tools and equipment.
-Anticipate municipal needs in the short, medium, and long term and plan, budget, and supervise activities promptly and efficiently.
-Analyze and provide remedies to issues affecting the RMs infrastructure and public works operations and plans.
-Respond to public enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
-Maintain and complete accurate operational and service delivery reports, including personnel documentation, service delivery reports and incident reporting.
-Provide reports to Council and Administration with clear analysis and recommendations.
The ideal Candidate will possess:
-Minimum of five years progressive experience in a construction or maintenance role
-Strong communication skills
-Supervisory experience
-Experience operating equipment, particularly a grader
-Experience with safety program administration
-Experience with a municipality or RM preferred
-Valid 1A drivers license, including an acceptable driver's abstract
