We are growing and restructuring! The Regional Authority of Carlton Trail (REACT) Waste Management District is a regional solid waste management system covering approximately 11,000 km2 population of 27,000 operated and owned by 47 partner municipalities through a management board. As the key member of REACT, the General Manager reports directly to the Board of the Authority. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Authority's solid waste management at 18 transfer stations, 2 landfills including recycling facility, garbage collection and composting for all 47 municipalities. The position includes financial management and planning for the district, along with the responsibility for adhering to health and safety standards, environmental and regulatory requirements, business development, strategic planning, and customer service.
Educational and other Requirements:
- SWANA Certification Landfill Basics AND Manager of Landfill Operations course or successful completion within 6 months of hire required
- Must have word processing, Sage Online, Excel & demonstrated computer skills
- Previous environmental/landfill experience preferred, but will train
- Business/Accounting and Human Resources degree/certification or relevant municipal experience
Other: Valid Class 5 Sask. Driver's license and criminal record check is required
