As the primary contact during the construction and warranty periods, your duties will include:
-Carrying out construction contract administration functions in both the sub-consultant & prime consultant roles
-Reviewing contractor supplied shop drawings for conformance with design specifications & performance criteria
-Conducting site reviews to ensure compliance with contract document, compiling & issuing site review reports
-Interpreting construction contract documentation to provide direction to contractors and equipment suppliers
-Working with other design & construction team members to resolve issues arising during construction
-Preparing construction phase documentation in the form of price requests, site instructions & request for information (RFI) responses
-Reviewing contractor progress claims and making recommendations for payment based on progress observed on site
-Maintaining construction contract administration records & logs
-Chairing construction meetings & preparing meeting minutes when acting in prime consultant role &
-Providing feedback & making recommendations to design staff regarding changes to methods, materials & design philosophy.
Your qualifications include:
-a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Electrical Engineering Program recognized by the University of Saskatchewan OR
-a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an Accredited Technical institute recognized by Saskatchewan Polytechnic OR
-an Electrical Journeymen Certification from an Accredited Technical Institute recognized by Saskatchewan Polytechnic
-minimum 5 years related construction project experience
-knowledge of applicable codes and standards (National Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, various NFPA and CAN/ULC standards)
-familiarity with contract administration and project management software and platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, Rform, Bluebeam) would be an asset.
