Main Duties
Pickup and move blank headstones from storage to workshop and prepare them for sandblasting.
Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone slabs or other stone products to required shape or design and to produce smooth finish.
Print sandblast stencils generated from renderings approved by customers and attach them to blank headstones ordered by the customer.
Operate sandblasting equipment to cut inscriptions or decorative designs in stone monuments.
Finish stone products with spray paint and by mounting plaques or installing on granite foundation bases
Install headstones with bases and flower vases in cemeteries with cranes and other equipment.
Rub headstones and add final inscriptions to existing stones.
Other required tasks in the workshop and display area.
Qualification
At least one year on job training.
Five years experience in granite products manufacturing.
Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

Stone Forming and Finishing Worker Specific Skills
- Operate sandblasting equipment to cut inscriptions or decorative designs in monumental stone
- Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications
- Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish
- Operate blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions
