Elk Ridge Resort is looking for a professional Sous Chef to be the second in command in leading the Culinary Operations team for our outlets: Fredrich, The Wyld, and Banquet Operations. Following our Executive Chefs specifications and guidelines, the successful candidate will play an important role in providing Elk Ridge guests with the very best culinary experiences.
The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting with all day-to-day operations of the kitchen and culinary team.
Help in the design and creation of regular menus as well as special menus (ie. Groups and events) in compliance with trends, margins, and Elk Ridge Resort standards.
Executing the preparation of food at a quality and consistent standard
Assist with coordinating, supervising, and assisting in the preparation, cooking, and controlling of all meal periods.
Assist with staff management, training and scheduling
Leading by example - manage, monitor and develop team member performance
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE: Minimum of 2 years related experience in an equivalent Kitchen management position
Red Seal preferred
Must be hands-on with the ability to inspire and encourage a happy, productive, and cohesive work environment.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
Familiar with industrys best practices and trends
