Description

SUMMARY

Shipping & Receiving employees are responsible for loading bagged and/or bulk shipments of grain products in accordance with specified shipment instructions, maintaining an organized and clean warehouse, and other duties as assigned. Current shifts are eight (8) hours per day starting weekdays at either 7am or 8am. Extended hours and/or shift work may be required from time to time. Overtime remuneration is 1.5 times the regular wage plus $2.00 per hour meal premium.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Forklift operation
Inspect and document the condition of equipment prior to loading
Sweeping equipment prior to loading
Container handling using Hyster container lift
General housekeeping
Operate and maintain all aspects of the bulk and bagged loading systems; including drag conveyors, bucket elevators, automatic sampling equipment, bulk weigh scales, bagging equipment, inline check weigher, metal detector, magnetic, inline printers, pallet delivery equipment, a robotic palletizer, and stretch wrapping equipment.
Evaluate and document product quality to ensure the quality loading meets or exceeds the quality requirements.
Prepare representative samples of the product loaded for quality analysis
Document tasks completed
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Forklift operation experience
Valid drivers license
Mechanical ability to operate and maintain equipment
Computer aptitude
Comprehensive knowledge of the English language, both written and oral
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting when required,
Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred
Problem solving skills (ie: troubleshooting) using logic
Good eye sight and color perception
Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Assets:
Class 1 Driving experience
HACCP / Food Safety experience
Grain farm or agriculture experience
