Qualifications:
Experience in human services, supported housing, or with persons with
disabilities/addictions
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture
Drivers license
Vehicle
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Computer skills
Must pass criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Ability to work independently
Good time management skills
Knowledge of person-centered, trauma informed care and strength based approaches
Duties:
Review communications board and log books when coming on shift to see who is on-call
staff and supervisor.
Be available to respond to client needs and requests where reasonable in a friendly andcourteous manner
Ensure property security alarms and cameras are on and functional.
Assist Program Staff when requested, to ensure safety of staff and residents.
Responsible for maintaining clear and concise logs of all unusual occurrences orsuspicious activities.
Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required.
Be available for community members for mentorship and consultations.
Assist community members, guests, employees during emergency situations.
Be aware of emergency procedures in the event of the need for building evacuations.
Notify appropriate individuals (on-call staff, Supervisor, Manager) and/or Authorities inthe event of accidents, attacks, or other critical incidents.
Transport clients in accordance with established client transportation policies/protocols.
Escort any unwelcome persons from the property when safe to do so.
Write clear and concise incident reports when necessary.
