Working under the supervision of the Engineering Manager in Saskatchewan, the Electrical Power Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components for our clients. The potential candidate will report to our Saskatoon or Regina office, remote work is considered. Applicants who meet a subset of the mentioned job responsibilities will be considered.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for the growth and development of junior Engineering staff
- Manage, plan, and execute various electrical projects across a wide range of clients and industries
- Perform electrical analysis and design in both the industrial and utility sectors
- Protective relaying design and integration (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
- Industrial/Utility substation automation (SEL RTAC, RTU, HMI, Communications, etc.)
- Conduct electrical studies including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies
- Creation/modification/review/approval of electrical drawing packages: single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements.
- Electrical distribution system design and modifications: MCCs, switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays and controls.
- Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions to correct deficiencies in electrical systems
- Opportunity to support field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities on customer sites.
- Onsite engineering inspections and data collection
- Engineering sales including preparation of engineering estimates and proposals
