Qualifications

    Must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
    Possess a Teacher Professional A Certificate.
    Must provide a criminal record (CPIC) and vulnerable sector check.
    Possess a valid Saskatchewan Drivers License.

Duties/Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Principal, the ELA Catalyst Teacher will coordinate the operation and implementation of the Pre  K to grade 9 English Language Arts Methodologies. The ELA Catalyst teacher will perform professional development duties with staff related to curricular programs and assist in the implementation of instructional programs outlined in the curriculum. In addition, the ELA catalyst teacher will guide pedagogical support to teachers through lesson/unit planning, co-teaching, and mentoring.

    Provides professional development opportunities with teachers by coordinating and assists in the development, implementation, articulation, and pedagogical support for Pre  K to grade 9 curricula in English Language Arts.
    Strong knowledge and understanding of curriculum-based teaching, learning and assessment.
    Ability to mentor and coach teachers in planning, assessment, and development of learning activities.
    Correlates curriculum alignment of outcomes and indicators to assess student learning and help develop plans for improvement.
    Implement curricular programs and improvement of instructional practice and assists teachers in providing academic achievement data for reflecting and reporting purposes.
    Improve curriculum development and assessment practices.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.
