ABOUT OCHAPOWACE NATION
Ochapowace Nation is a community of about 600 people located off the Trans Canada #1 highway in between Whitewood and Broadview, Saskatchewan. We take pride in our community, ensuring we maintain our cultural teachings, language, and traditional way of life, which are of utmost importance at Kakisiwew School. Kakisiwew School is Pre-Kindergarten to grade 12 school with approximately 240 students and 40 dedicated staff. We are an active community. We maintain and promote high standards in academics, sports, language, and culture.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Ochapowace Nation is looking for a full-time Middle Year Teacher to join our team for the 2022-2023 academic year. The incumbent will work closely with the Principal to promote a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Will be responsible for providing an educational setting where students will be able to achieve their intellectual, psychological, physical, and emotional growth.  
Can adapt and support student learning;  Creates authentic relationships with students.
Can successfully infuse and highlight Indigenous values and ways of knowing into all areas of the curriculum.
Will work with the community to integrate knowledge and skills,
Is able to adapt to online learning if required and is adept at engaging learning strategies,
Treaty education and knowledge would be a definite asset,
Daily record-keeping or daily plans,
Other duties may be assigned by the Principal and Director of Education.

REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Education and valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.
Must be friendly, dependable, and possess a professional demeanor.
Communicate clearly and concisely orally, and in writing.
Must be flexible and able to work well independently and with a team.
Knowledge about Ochapowace First Nation, and First Nation culture and traditions.
Must obtain a CPIC/Vulnerable Sector security clearance and current drug test.
