The Organization
The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission has a mandate to protect and promote human rights in Saskatchewan and work toward the elimination of discrimination.

The Position
The successful candidate will:
provide advice and guidance to Commission staff on issues which arise during the intake, investigation, mediation, and systemic initiative functions of the Commission;
prepare all materials in preparation of motion, pre-hearing and hearings before the Court of Queens Bench;
actively participate in the resolution of complaints, including in the hearing of human rights complaints before the Court of Queens Bench;
operate as a member of legal team while managing a challenging caseload with minimal supervision;
travel as required.
Essential Education, Skills, and Experience
The successful candidate will:
be energetic and confident with superior analytical, problem-solving and communication skills;
demonstrate competence in dispute resolution skills including mediation and negotiation;
have experience assessing risk, evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of legal disputes;
have courtroom experience, including trial advocacy;
be qualified for membership in the Law Society of Saskatchewan, having a minimum of eight years of experience in active legal practice, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of The Saskatchewan Human Rights Code and Regulations, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, constitutional law, administrative law, labour law, and employment law.
