Description

The new position of Housing Relations Manager will be working collaboratively with the Executive Director, SHIP staff team and key stakeholders to address homelessness in Saskatoon.  A successful applicant with facilitate relationships between private and public stakeholders in accordance with the community housing objectives in affordable housing development.
Role and Responsibilities
-Monitor and analyze trends in addressing homelessness at the local, regional, and national levels.
-Build and update the rental housing vacancies database, provide access to community-based organizations working to house people.
-Conduct on-going community outreach and presentations to various housing property owners, landlords, community partners, and potential supporters about the importance of affordable housing including members of organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Home Builders Association, Construction Association, NSBA, Realtors, Landlord Association and others.
-Conduct and develop presentations informing community members and groups of the Homelessness Action Plan, lead, and oversee events, group work, etc. to increase level of positive change on homelessness in Saskatoon.
-Work closely with and support the Community Builds Advisory Group. (local advisory for affordable housing builds, includes representation from an Indigenous Private Market Developer, Indigenous Community Consultant, Accessibility Expert, SHIP City Planning & Development Advisor)
-Prepares reports for funding agencies, governing bodies and administration where required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements-A University Degree in Business, Human Services, or a related field with five years of related work experience.
-Experience in project analysis, public relations, planning & development.
