The Metis Addictions Council of Saskatchewan Inc., better known as MACSI, is a non-profit community based provincial organization that has a long history of serving the people of Saskatchewan for over 50 years.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Work as a team with other counsellors to plan and coordinate treatment objectives
-Complete and maintain accurate records and/or reports regarding the clients histories and progress, services provided, or other required information. (ex. Case Notes, Progress Notes, Communication Log Book, Individual Service Plans, Progress Summary Reports, ADG Forms)
-Counsel clients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
-Interview clients, review files, and confer with other counsellor to evaluate the individuals' mental and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation.
-Develop client treatment plans based on clinical experience and client histories.
-Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to goals described in treatment
-Intervene as an advocate for clients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
-Participate in daily morning staff meetings and two weekly clinical and planning meetings.
-Modify treatment plans according to changes in client status
-Assist clients in adhering to treatment plans, such as setting up appointments, arranging for transportation to appointments, or providing support.
The Successful Candidate will have recognized certification from one of the following programs: Addictions Counselling Diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, a Community Services Addictions Diploma from The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, or an applicable University Degree or program.
