The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has an opening for a Senior Engineer.
Accountabilities
Create engineering scope documents or work packages to be used internally, and for contracting engineering firms
Interface with and manage external engineering contracts
Review, verify, and approve drawings and design work related to plant steel structures, platework, and weldments
Responsible for complete design requirements for foundations and concrete slabs
Manage engineering workflow and approvals
Develop tendering and procurement documents
Qualifications
Mechanical, structural, or civil engineering degree
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with Permission to Consult in Saskatchewan
Minimum of 10 years experience in the engineering field, preferably in the mining industry related to all aspects of mineral processing
Work experience with engineering firms providing engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services
Concrete and foundation design experience would be an asset
Skills
Structural engineering skills related to small structures and platforms
Project management experience, including leading projects
Good understanding of mineral processing equipment and balance of plant systems including HVAC, boilers and process heating, and dust collection
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work efficiently with multiple stakeholders, including clients, project team and fabricators
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
