Prairie North Co-op is hiring a Health & Safety/Asset Protection Coordinator
Who we are:
With Head Office based out of Melfort, Saskatchewan, Prairie North Co-op is proud to serve our 20 site locations in the communities of Archerwill, Kelvington, Melfort, Naicam, Spalding, St. Brieux, and Rose Valley.
Prairie North has a Health & Safety shared services agreement with Carrot River, Beeland and Parkland Co-op. Under this agreement, Prairie North provides Health & Safety services to all four Co-op retails when combined includes 12 communities, 34 site locations and over 500 team members.
What youll do:
Reporting to the Controller, the Health & Safety Coordinator will provide advice and support on a variety of health and safety activities, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs. This position will work directly with location managers to support health and safety reporting, incident investigation, hazard identifications and policy compliance. Additional duties include:
-Conduct regular workplace inspections, investigations, and safety audits and devise site specific implementation
-Coordinate and facilitate specialized health and safety training needs for team members
-Monitor legislative and regulatory compliance changes
-Lead the Health & Safety committee and meetings
Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Health, Safety, Security & Environment and Sustainability and:
-You have a OHSP or currently working towards a designation
-You have 2 5 years experience in a health & safety role
-Youre familiar with Federal and Provincial OH&S legislation
-A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
-Must be willing to travel to various locations throughout shared service agreement
Consideration will be made to the successful candidate to work out of a community of their preference within the shared services agreement.
