The Town is seeking a Civil Engineer who enjoys professional challenges and leading others in a fast-paced municipal environment that offers a wide range of experiences and opportunities.
This position reports directly to the Deputy Administrator/ Director of Transportation & Environmental Services. This position ensures the planning, development and implementation of all Engineering projects for the Town of Kindersley and for regional partnership projects where required. This position provides engineering support to the Department of Public Works and works closely with all other departments.
Civil Engineer position is primarily responsible for:
Long range and annual Town Engineering plans, programs and budgets
Policy development and implementation for Engineering Department.
Servicing & Development Agreements with private developers.
Preparing tender calls; project management of successful tenders.
Resource person to the Towns Municipal Planning Commission
Staffing and supervision of Engineering Department
Civil Engineer will possess, at minimum:
A Civil Engineering degree from a Canadian university or equivalent. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan is an asset.
We may consider Engineer-in-training or Associate Engineer status
Experience in or exposure to community planning.
Experience in project management.
Five years of practical experience in Municipal Engineering or related field preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of people and ability to establish and maintain good relations with elected officials and the general public.
