Reporting to the Sr. Director of Housing, and in coordination with both the Directors of Advocacy and Navigation and Kinship and Staff Development, this position is responsible for ensuring that Childrens Housing meets the YWCA Regina mandate and standards, and that the standards and reporting required by the Ministry of Social Services are being met. Further, this position ensures that the children in YWCA Regina care are receiving culturally appropriate services and have access to activities and ceremonies that foster a strong sense of Indigenous identity.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring quality of care in partnership with the Directors Council;
Support and develop staff competencies;
Support strategic direction for Childrens homes through program development and advocacy;
Work with both the Directors of Advocacy and Navigation and Kinship and Staff Development, Sr. Director of Indigenous Relations and Knowledge Keeper, as well as staff coaches to develop a strategy to implement and maintain Indigenous ways of knowing into the daily structure and processes of Childrens Housing;
Communicate with both the Ministry of Social Services and Childrens Housing leadership and staff to ensure that standards are clearly understood and maintained;
Support the development and maintenance of a clear communication strategy internal to the YWCA Regina, the Ministry of Social Services, and other relevant service delivery agencies; and
Ensure that the Childrens Houses and staff have the support and supplies for optimal health and fulfillment of case management
