Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician is accountable to perform a wide-range of housing unit maintenance and repairs. This includes completing associated interior and exterior work in an efficient and effective manner resulting in minimum vacancies and tenant satisfaction. The individuals in these roles may apprentice in the following areas: carpentry, plumbing or electrical.
Education & Experience
Grade XII
WHMIS and First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
A minimum of three years progressive, successful, broad and related experience with respect to general building and repair of housing units.
PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, AND SENSORY DEMANDS:
This role can involve concentration. Good eyesight is required
Must be able to lift, bend, climb, push/pull, read/write
Must be able to work in confined spaces
Must be able to work in high places
Must be able to use manual and power tools and have finger/hand dexterity
OTHER:
Employment is conditional upon a positive outcome from a criminal background check
A valid drivers license is required
Must own basic tools
Must supply own vehicle for use on the job
This position requires the individual to be on-call and respond to after-hour calls as necessary
