Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit an Inventory Control Supervisor. This permanent full-time position is located in a rural municipality east of Saskatoon.

We are seeking a hardworking and meticulous professional with proven leadership skills and a background in Procurement and Inventory Control.

The Role:
Undertake purchasing and procurement duties such as creating POs, submitting orders to vendors, following up on missing or delayed PO items, working with vendors and carriers to ensure the best price, updating pricing, analyzing OSMI reports, coordinating parts transfers, etc.
Inventory control duties such as problem-solving discrepancies between the physical inventory and the inventory system (JDE), reviewing negative inventory lists and fixing as needed, taking overall responsivity for accuracy of inventory, and performing cycle counts to ensure alignment.
Direct and oversee the activities of 4-5 purchasing and inventory team members
Act as liaison between shipping, production, and warehouse departments
Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts by troubleshooting existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, designing and implementing strategies, while also supporting team, division, and corporate goals.

The Ideal Candidate:
5-10 years of purchasing and warehouse experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting
3-5 years of supervisory experience
SCMP designation preferred
Knowledge of ERP software for procurement and supply chain management (JDE preferred)
Skilled and proficient in the use of office software
Able to develop positive working relationships with internal and external partners
Safety-first mindset, with the ability to promote safety and implement safe work practices
Strong problem-solving abilities, able to review complex information, evaluate possible approaches and implement novel solutions
