At Redhead Equipment we deliver the most dependable brands of agricultural, construction and truck and trailer equipment across 8 locations in Saskatchewan.
Located in Regina and reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions including the preparation, entry/posting of various journal entries and supporting all areas of Finance/Accounting and Payroll.
Responsibilities
* Manage the month end process from reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations through preparing financial statements and variance analysis
* Ensuring all month-end and year-end financial reports are completed on time and accurately according to generally accepted accounting principles and following corporate procedures and internal controls
* Provide leadership, training and direction to the accounting department personnel
* Analyze and generate financial reports to management in a timely and accurate manner
* Take initiative to create efficiencies and improve processes
* Provide financial analysis and advice to Senior Management as required
* Lead the preparation of the annual audit file and year-end reconciliations and co-ordinate with external auditors in their subsequent examination of the Company's financial statements
* Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications Requirements
* Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
* Analytically-minded with solid organizational and communication skills and able to meet prescribed deadlines, sometimes under pressure
* Use teamwork skills to work co-operatively with all departments as well as fellow employees
* Provide direction, motivation and set an example through open communication providing appropriate feedback, support and resources to improve effectiveness of individuals and teams
* Demonstrate clear and respectful communication skills in all situations
* Experience in equipment dealership an asset
