The Instructor is an in-scope position reporting to the Senior Program Coordinator and is responsible for organizing and delivering education program curriculum and content to meet the learning outcomes of the program. The Instructor is also responsible for engaging with students in the educational setting to contribute to a positive and successful learning experience. The Instructor works within the Saskatchewan Polytechnic curriculum promoting academic success and personal growth with the students. Some of the main responsibilities are:
Play an active role in delivering curriculum in a variety of classes and settings that align with the accrediting institutes requirements.
Prepare class sessions and assignments to help students grasp course content and understand the integration with overall student learning outcomes for the course.
Create a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation.
Document students attendance, participation, and academic progress by giving and grading assignments, projects, quizzes and/or examinations that lead to a final grade.
Stay informed about changes and innovations in program field.
Be accessible to students outside the classroom, providing ample periods for counselling and mentoring students in matters related to academic success and life goals.
Identifies student learning issues and refers students to, or consults with Student Affairs personnel.
Implements student learning assistance plans as may be established.
