Training and Development Manager - Summer Student Opportunity
We are seeking an Indigenous, Black or racialized candidate to coordinate education and training opportunities for residents of the Heritage neighbourhood on topics such as: anti-racism, conflict de-escalation, mental health first aid and suicide prevention, first aid, naloxone, and community resource awareness.
Only students continuing full-time post-secondary studies in the fall semester will be considered. This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
Tasks and Responsibilities
-develop and plan all training opportunities, in communication with Executive Director
-organize 4-6 training opportunities on the above topics for residents of the Heritage neighbourhood
-organize 1-2 specific training sessions for the Heritage Community Association Board and Staff
-organize 1-2 specific training sessions for service organizations and businesses in the Heritage neighbourhood
-manage all outreach and communication with potential partners
-handle all logistics such as scheduling and technology
-support with promotion of all events and opportunities
-promote relevant opportunities provided by other agencies
-coordinate with other Program staff to find, align with, and support existing programs
