Tasks and Responsibilities
Supporting the development and installation of a new raised-bed community garden. Helping to plant, tend and harvest vegetables and medicines. Tending to trees and shrubs in Art Park, a small native prairie greenspace. Keeping both areas clean and tidy. Daily weeding and watering in the garden. Engaging passers-by in a friendly way. Supporting educational programming in the garden. Helping to promote the garden to community members. Supporting other Programming staff as needed.
This position is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience in gardening and landscaping, either as a stepping stone toward future education in these trades, or as a
complement to current education.
Only students continuing full-time post-secondary studies in the fall semester will be considered. This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
