One position is for a youth either in Grade 12 or completing it this year while the other must be in or have completed their first year of University. The successful candidates will work with our UMAYC Youth Workers and Centre staff to ensure on-going youth activities and programming is not only carried out but continues to be successful. These programs & services have been established in order to meet the growing needs of our urban aboriginal youth. These positions will be responsible for planning and implementing a wide variety of activities with youth.
The successful candidates must be between 16 and 30 years of age and have completed Grade 12 education or higher. Funding restrictions require that each applicant must be of aboriginal descent and residing in an urban area and be returning to full-time education in September. Candidates must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or have refugee status and cannot have another full time job (over 30 hours per week). Other requirements include intermediate to advanced computer skills, and excellent oral and written English skills. Oral and written skills in Cree or Michif would be an asset. This positon will be kept open until a suitable candidate is found.
