Spectrum Family Eyecare, an established optometric practice in Saskatoon, invites applications for the full time position of "super-tech".
What is a super-tech?
A super-tech is a clinical technician who is a scribe to the doctor, but also an optician. By joining our team, we will enroll you in our training program to be come a multitasking ninja!
Excellent compensation, in-office training program, and including the opportunity to become a Licensed Ophthalmic Dispenser (i.e., optician) or certified optometric assistant.
You will become an essential part of our care team - assisting the doctor in all aspects of patient care to choosing and fitting with all types of eye wear - contact lenses, frames, computer glasses, sunglasses, safety glasses, etc.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Patient reception
- Case history
- Diagnostic testing - optical coherence tomography (OCT), visual fields, fundus photography, and more
- Scribing for our doctor during the examination
- Booking addition appointments required
- Selection of eyeglasses or sunglasses
- Ordering and maintaining product inventory, as required
- Dispensing, adjusting and repairing of eye wear
- Verification of eye wear orders
- Notifying patients of eye wear ready for pickup
Requirements:
- Must have outstanding inter-personal skills
- Demonstrated consistent professionalism
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated customer service excellence (mandatory)
- Must love fashion!
- Experience in an optometric office is an asset but not required.
- Must be self-motivated with strong organizational skills
- Must have a keen perception for detail & technical ability
Our current office hours are Mon- Fri: 8:00 - 5:00 pm.
